When five-time disc golf world champion Paul McBeth announced his new charity venture, the Paul McBeth Foundation, he asserted that the organization would be deeply committed to partnering with individuals and companies across the entire sport, not just those with whom he is associated. With that in mind, the organization is taking the first steps toward that goal by announcing that both Discraft and Dynamic Discs will join the cause as Gold Level Partners, the highest level of support for the foundation.
As Gold Level Partners, both Discraft and Dynamic Discs have each agreed to provide all the equipment for one of the three Paul McBeth Foundation projects planned for 2021. This includes baskets, signage, and even discs for the locations to get started.
“I’m beyond appreciative for both Discraft’s and Dynamic Discs’ support,” McBeth said. “Working together for the wider growth of disc golf is one of my core values, and these two partners coming on board so early in the process shows that they share those ideals.”
Even with Paul donating his 2021 tournament earnings to the cause, this support is critical to the early success of the new organization. After committing long-term to Paul as a player, this show of support from Discraft demonstrates their investment is about more than just championship titles, according to Discraft’s Bob Julio.
“Discraft is very proud of Paul and we are honored to be included in his vision and goals for the growth of disc golf,” Julio said. "After our first year working with Paul we quickly realized he has a great vision for the sport of disc golf with big goals, and we are committed to helping him perfect his craft.”
Dynamic Discs is well known for its dedication to growing the sport of disc golf, so it comes as no surprise that they were among the first to back the Paul McBeth Foundation. In addition to coming on board as a partner, long-time Dynamic Discs employee Doug Bjerkaas is filling the role of Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors.
“Growing disc golf is great for everyone involved in the sport,” shared Doug. Dynamic Discs has always led the charge to put disc golf in as many places as possible. Partnering with Paul’s nonprofit made perfect sense. We are extremely proud to be working directly with the foundation to put a course in later this year. This will be one of many future projects where DD can join Paul’s foundation in getting disc golf in front of entirely new audiences.”
The Paul McBeth Foundation looks forward to announcing its inaugural project in the coming weeks.
